Individual Counselling
For individuals who are looking to work through life’s pressures or stressors one-on-one. Counseling and therapy for addiction can help individuals understand what causes addiction, recognize risk factors for relapse, and develop tools for coping with stressful situations. Common techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy, couples and/or family therapy, and psychological treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy are also used.
Couples Counselling
An excellent tune-up for your relationship. We can delve in to the issues that crop up and find positive solutions together. Couples counselling is a type of therapy for intimate partners who want to improve their communication, interactions, and relationship. It can address specific or general problems, such as affairs, anger, or financial challenges. Couples counselling is often short-term and focuses on specific problems. Other goals of couples counselling are improving communication and interactions and strengthening relationships.
Addiction and Trauma Counselling
Trauma therapy can help you process your feelings about traumatic events and learn to prioritize self-care, be patient with yourself, and find ways to enjoy yourself again. In life, sometimes major, shocking events take place which leave us needing someone to help us process them and come out of it with a healthy perspective. Many people experience at least one trauma in their lives. Trauma can include a wide range of situations, ranging from serious injury, sexual violence, and life-threatening events, to chronic abuse and neglect, being bullied, and homelessness.
Addiction counselling is a specialized form of therapy designed to address the underlying causes of addiction. It involves a therapeutic relationship between a client who is experiencing addiction, dependence or abuse of alcohol or other drugs and a Therapist trained to provide that help to address that addiction, dependence or abuse. Addiction counselling can increase self-awareness, strengthen coping mechanisms, and help prevent relapse.
