Trauma
When life throws us challenges in the form of acute trauma, help is not far away. Shocking tragedies can happen and create shock-waves at the workplace, at home, within relationships. Trauma counselling can provide a safe space in which people can express their emotions about what has happened, while also helping people cope.
Most have some experiences at some point in life that derails them temporarily. I get it. I have lived it. I have moved through it. Even having the theoretical knowledge about trauma and loss does not really prepare you when it actually happens to you. I have experienced a few traumas in my life and career and really believe it was my understanding of normal emotional and psychological reactions to each trauma that helped me to deal with it positively and healthily. I want to bring this knowledge and experience to you.
Addictions
There are various kinds of addictions people struggle with. Substance abuse counselling helps some break free from drug or alcohol addiction. It is often a key part of rehabilitation in addressing issues like mental health, behavior patterns, and treatment options. Addiction counselling can help individuals and families better understand causes of addiction, recognize risk factors for relapse, and develop tools for coping with stressful situations. Common techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy, couples and/or family therapy, and psychological treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy are also used.
